Meeting the Needs of Beneficiaries
Seven children at an orphanage in Myanmar studying together using two My Lights. They also use it as a handheld light in the dark.
My Light helps residents in Laos continue their daily activities at night.
Our beneficiaries shared that the solar lights have:
provided safety
saved costs
enabled activities such as studying, chores and boosting livelihoods
Their input guided our product enhancements, resulting in longer battery life, enhanced brightness options, and greater versatility as table, wall, or ceiling lights.
Boarding school children at Taree Pho Kwee Village, Dawna Range, studying in the dark night with the help of solar lights.
"Solar lights are useful for those living in Dawna Range, who are mostly from the Kayin ethnic group. These mountainous areas lack proper infrastructure, with no concrete or tar roads for travel. Many live without electricity, good hygiene conditions, and access to schools. Solar lights are the only safe source of light for these communities. Without these lights, they rely on costly resources like candles, or hazardous tree branches for firelight. The students at a boarding school can now study in much brighter conditions."
