Remote communities have been hit the hardest by the current energy crisis. They already face challenges in accessing essential services such as electricity due to limited infrastructure.
We developed My Light – Community with these communities in mind, providing flexible lighting solutions for education centers, healthcare facilities and recreational areas.
How My Light – Community Brightens Lives
Installed at a field hospital for Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh.
Hospitals in Bangladesh
"Thank you to our donor for providing My Light Community. It is extremely important for our neonatal unit and the treatment of newborns. This support is helpful in all seasons, but especially during the rainy season when climate-related power outages are common. We are deeply grateful." — Dr. Ahsana, Pediatric Doctor, HOPE Field Hospital
Supporting Critical Care: My Light – Community is used at HOPE Field Hospital serving the Rohingya refugee camps, as well as two other medical facilities in Bangladesh.
Power cuts once forced surgeries to stop and put patients at risk, but doctors can now continue care without delay.
Safer Births at Night: With dependable lighting during frequent outages, mothers no longer have to give birth in darkness.
At HOPE Hospital and Moheshkhali Birth Center, reliable light helps ensure patient care can continue through frequent outages.
On Moheshkhali Island, where stable electricity is a luxury, reliable lighting helps midwives and health workers respond more safely at night.
Midwives can deliver babies safely and respond to emergencies at any hour.
My Light – Community provides light that keeps hope, and life, going.

A Space to Learn: In an orphanage in Myanmar, one set of My Light – Community transforms a hall that accommodates 60 people into a bright, shared sanctuary. Children can now continue studying even when blackouts occur.
Safer Surroundings: When used as a street lamp at full brightness, the light is enough to provide clear street visibility and illuminate pathways during power shortages.
With My Light – Community, children can learn, gather, and move about more safely after sunset.
A neighbourhood in Bali is now brightened with My Light-Community.
Underserved Communities in Indonesia
Safe Passage: Thousands from Sumba migrate to Bali, living in crowded, squatter-style accommodations.
In these transient spaces, even short walks can feel unsafe in the dark.
Workers returning late can now find their way home with confidence.
Restoring Connection: My Light – Community illuminates communal areas — the heart of these settlements — restoring visibility and a sense of connection.
In these settings, reliable light brings both visibility and a stronger sense of safety.
Two My Light - Community lamps can brighten a meeting hall in Indonesia with a capacity of 50 to 60 people, enabling children to study in the hall at night.
Installed at an Orang Asli village in Malaysia.
Remote Village in Malaysia
Lighting Community Life: In an Orang Asli village in Johor, My Light – Community lights up the community center, basketball court, and surrounding paths.
Spaces that were once dark after sunset are now vibrant hubs that remain accessible into the evening.
Children play longer, families gather, and movement through the village feels safer.
On Banggi Island and Teluk Nipah, My Light – Community acts as a "lighthouse" for the community, and shared spaces are no longer limited by daylight.
Functioning as both a street light and a social anchor, My Light – Community supports safer movement and stronger community life.
