The lights arrived in late April and Habibi International has begun distributing them to some of the poorest families in the refugee camps—starting with over 150 who need them most.
The first lights were given out to families with school-going children. They arrived right before the final exams, which was timely for the students who needed to study but did not have electricity. This gives children a chance to keep studying and dream beyond their current hardships.
Families have been using it for cooking, dinner time, and moving around at night. From widows to the elderly, My Light is bringing hope to everyone, replacing small battery-powered flashlights and easing the hardships of daily life.
With every light, lives are lifted, hope shines, and the road ahead is illuminated.
