Hope for Myanmar's Displaced Communities & A Needy Neighbourhood
In Loikaw, Kayah State, solar lights are providing safety and relief to thousands living in Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps. The Aung Thapyay Gone camp and Sin Sa Khan camp host over 7,900 residents who cannot return to their homes due to lingering threats of airstrikes. Resources are scarce, and residents rely on broken tree branches for cooking and lighting.
As part of efforts to uplift the community, Our Daily Bread Ministries Myanmar distributed solar lights during a Christmas event. These lights not only address basic needs but also create safer spaces and offer families a sense of normalcy. The initiative aims to empower residents to continue their daily tasks safely and inspire children to dream of a brighter future.
A single solar light can ignite hope, enhance safety, and illuminate the path to new opportunities.
